     A semi-detached stone cottage in a picturesque village setting with local shop, pub, gallery and church all within easy walking distance. Apple Tree Cottage has been completely refurbished to a high standard, with an open fire, character and a home-from-home cosy atmosphere. Particularly recommended is a visit to the local Percy Arms in Chatton - why not call in for a meal on the way home from a day trip seeing the atmospheric Chillingham Castle, reputed to be the most haunted Castle in England, the cup and ring marked stones on Chatton Park Hill or the unique Wild Chillingham Cattle all of which are close at hand. Wooler, the gateway to the Cheviot Hills and The Northumberland National Park lies ten minutes away. Chatton is ideally placed between the hills and the coast with Bamburgh Castle and beach being within a 20 minute drive and Alnwick with its magical Alnwick Castle and famous Alnwick Garden less than 30 minutes away. Holiday Cottage - Accommodation Step up through the front door into an entrance area/utility room fitted with cream-coloured Shaker-style cupboards, sink, coat hanging and shoe/boot rack, washing machine and tumble dryer. The sitting room has an open fire in wood and marble surround and TV, DVD, books and games are available for guests. Go on through to the dining area with wooden floorboards, table and chairs, and then down two steps to a modern fitted kitchen. This has countryside views to the rear and is fitted with cream-coloured Shaker-style units, fridge, freezer, electric cooker, hob and extractor hood, dishwasher and microwave. There is a walk-in cupboard and a rear door leading to an enclosed garden. The ground floor bathroom has sealed cork flooring, electric shower over bath, WC and wash hand basin. Bedroom 1: spacious room with king size bed in pine bedframe, with matching wardrobe, bedside cabinets and tallboy, space for a cot, village views and sloping ceilings. Bedroom 2: smaller room with twin pine beds with matching wardrobe, bedside cabinets, chest of drawers and occasional table, sloping ceilings, portable TV for playing videos. Holiday Cottage - Facilities and Outside Oil central heating, electricity, bed linen, towels and initial supply of logs included in the rent. On-street parking. Enclosed mainly grassed garden to the rear with garden furniture in paved seating area. Storage for bikes, travel cot and high chair are all available on request.
