Holiday Cottage - Shepherd's Cottage - Nr Bamburgh, Bamburgh

A traditionally furnished single storey detached farm cottage, with large grassed garden, on one of The Duke of Northumberland's tenanted farms.

The cottage is beside a quiet country lane, only 4 miles from Bamburgh and 3 miles to the coast at Seahouses. The cottage lies within ½ hour of the magnificent island of Holy Island (see Holy Island Crossing Times), Budle Bay Nature Reserve and the Farne Islands which can be reached by boat from Seahouses. This memorable outing offers a chance to see the seal colonies, landing on Inner Farne and sightings of hundreds of seabirds (be warned to wear a hat in nesting season!).

Also in Seahouses is the opportunity to enjoy the popular golf links course or Slatehall Riding Centre for treks out or lessons in the school. Alnwick is the nearest market town only 20 minutes away with the famous Alnwick Garden and Alnwick Castle, filming location for the Harry Potter movies. Alnwick's other attractions include Barter Books - a huge second hand bookshop in the old railway station buildings, museum and variety of cultural fairs throughout the season.

Holiday Cottage - Single Storey Accommodation

Access is usually from the rear with a small step up from the yard, into small hall with cupboard storing games and books.

Sitting/dining room with open fire in tiled fireplace, sofa and chairs, dining table and chairs, TV and digibox, DVD, views to the garden.

Large practical kitchen with washing machine, tumble dryer, microwave, fridge/freezer, electric cooker, radio, window overlooking private yard.

Small bathroom with shower over bath, wash hand basin. Separate small WC.

Holiday Cottage - Ground Floor Bedrooms

Bedroom 1: pine double bed with matching wardrobes and bedside tables.

Bedroom 2: twin pine beds with built-in wardrobes;

Bedroom 3: single bed and wooden cot;

Bedroom 4: single bed.

Front porch leading to enclosed garden.

Open fire running partial central heating - also available electric convector heating.

All fuel, power and bed linen provided. Towels and tea towels not provided.

To the side of the property is a large grassed play area, wonderful for children to run wild!!

To the front a paved and lawn garden and to the rear a private yard with ample parking for three cars.

Views to the rear over open farmland as far as the eye can see.

Cycle store. Garden furniture.

Tour of the farm available on request.

Use of grass tennis court by arrangement with the owner - racquets and balls provided.

Dogs can be exercised in the fields to the rear of the property - accessed by wooden style over the wall.

Stabling for horse or pony can be arranged.

Bed and breakfast is available in the farmhouse for additional guests.
