Holiday Cottage - Red Steads Farm Cottage - Howick, Craster

A light and bright mid-terraced farm cottage refurbished in early 2010, Red Steads has delightful views across walled gardens and out over open countryside.

The working farm is on Lord Howick's Estate and is accessed by a private road. Rather than drive to the coast, why not walk across the fields and down to the beach. There is a path that leads down to Sugar Sands, Howick Cove and around the corner to Rumbling Kern and on to Craster.

Close at hand is Howick Hall and Gardens, with their amazingly colourful rhododendron displays. Perhaps end your visit with refreshment at The Earl Grey Tea House - home of the famous tea. The National Cycle Route lies at the end of the drive and takes cyclists up and down the Heritage Coastline.

Alnwick is only 15 minutes away with its famous Alnwick Castle, Alnwick Garden and entertaining festivals throughout the season.
