A light and bright mid-terraced farm cottage, Red Steads has delightful views across walled gardens and out over open countryside. The working farm is on Lord Howick's Estate and is accessed by a private road. Rather than drive to the coast, why not walk across the fields and down to the beach. There is a path that leads down to Sugar Sands, Howick Cove and around the corner to Rumbling Kern and on to Craster. Close at hand is Howick Hall and Gardens, with their amazingly colourful rhododendron displays. Perhaps end your visit with refreshment at The Earl Grey Tea House - home of the famous tea. The National Cycle Route lies at the end of the drive and takes cyclists up and down the Heritage Coastline. Only 15 minutes drive away is Alnwick, home to the famous Alnwick Castle, Alnwick Garden and the venue for entertaining festivals throughout the season. Holiday Cottage - Facilities

The small, bright cheerful kitchen has an electric cooker, dishwasher, wall heater, drop-leaf table and chairs. There is also a pantry with microwave, fridge and washing machine. The sitting room overlooks the garden and has two sofas, TV with Freeview, DVD, midi Hi-Fi and CD player as well as a selection of games to enjoy. There is an electric coal-effect fire in mahogany and slate surround and additional heating from an electric wall heater. The walk-in under-stairs storage cupboard provides airing and hanging space. French doors open to the garden with views over neighbouring gardens and fields. Bedroom 3 is on the ground floor with single bed, wardrobe, heater and garden views. Holiday Cottage - Upstairs![]() Upstairs: Bedroom 1 - double bed, double wardrobe, heater, hair dryer, views over gardens and open country. Bedroom 2 - twin beds, double wardrobe, heater, views as double bedroom. A full length Cheval mirror is on the landing.
