Holiday Cottage - Rowan Cottage - Craster

A deceptively spacious old fisherman's cottage tucked away just off Craster's main harbour road, a stone's throw from the sea.

The coastal path leads along the shoreline towards Dunstanburgh Castle and on to the sandy beaches at Embleton.

Rowan Cottage provides a home from home atmosphere, filled with antique furniture, fascinating pictures and carefully arranged curios. Craster is steeped in local tradition.

The village is centred around the picturesque harbour, particularly recommended is a trip to sample the food at the traditional local pub - The Jolly Fisherman. Visitors to Craster can also enjoy the treats of Robson's Craster Kippers, we believe they are the best in the country!

Holiday Cottage - Accommodation

Approached via an un-made road with steps down to a porch, ideal for boots etc. Through front door to tiled entrance hall with space for outdoor clothing and dogs.

Fitted kitchen with tiled floor - electric oven, ceramic hob, extractor fan, microwave, dishwasher, fridge/freezer, tiled floor, antique Welsh dresser and exposed beam.

Separate large dining room with carefully polished dining table, antique chairs and dresser, plus an assortment of other antique curios.

Large sitting room with log burning stove set in decorative recessed marble hearth, TV (with digi-box), video/DVD player - large selection of videos and books to tempt you. This room again contains many pictures and other antiques.

Separate tiled-floor cloakroom with wash hand basin, WC and washing machine.

Holiday Cottage - Upstairs

Bedroom 1: double bed, wardrobe, trouser press, easy chair, view towards the sea, small en-suite shower room (shower only, no WC or wash hand basin).

Bedroom 2: twin beds, wardrobe, easy chair, exposed ceiling beam and views over gardens.

Bedroom 3: twin beds, wardrobe, easy chair, exposed ceiling beam.

Bathroom: tiled floor, bath with power shower over, wash hand basin, WC.

Holiday Cottage - Facilities and Outside

Cot and high chair available.

Central heating, electricity, bed linen and towels included in the rent. Initial supply of logs included - more can be purchased locally.

Private parking and hardstanding available for up to 3 cars a few metres from the cottage.

The large private garden, situated near the parking area about 20 metres from the cottage, is split into several sections using coast-loving plants and seaside features. Of particular charm is the sun-trap corner surrounded by lavender bushes and the tranquil bench at the top of the garden from where you have wonderful sea views.

Rotary clothesline, chiminea, wooden garden table and chairs are also available.

Please note that the main photo of the cottage is taken from the rear of the property.

Dogs are welcome at the property (2 dogs maximum).
