Holiday Cottage - Castle View - Near Newton, Newton By The Sea

The peaceful coastal hamlet of High Newton is your destination and this detached bungalow is fortunate to have an enclosed garden on all sides which will afford the privacy you may desire on holiday. Only a few minutes away is Low Newton with its stunning beach where you can walk across the grass to 'The Ship'. You will be tempted by the local cuisine including the highly recommended Newton Bay lobster. Accompanied by a chilled glass of wine and fantastic views across the sands to Dunstanburgh Castle, this will be the perfect end to your day. You may even be lucky enough to catch one of the local music nights. If you don't wish to venture so far, The Joiner's Arms pub is closer to hand and has just undergone a fabulous refurbishment offering a very welcome atmosphere and excellent food.

Several beaches are within walking distance with protected sand dunes and you can observe birds and wildlife from the hide at Newton Pond Nature Reserve. In fact, beaches abound in this area and further north will take you to Beadnell, Seahouses and then to Bamburgh with its breath-taking views and home to the famous Bamburgh Castle.

All this driving and walking may tempt you to consider a car-free day and High Newton is fortunate to be on the rural bus route where, among other destinations, you can travel to the famous market town of Alnwick, home of the Duke of Northumberland, where its famous Alnwick Castle and Alnwick Garden will captivate you.

Holiday Cottage - Accommodation

Two steps will bring you into the tiled entrance porch with hooks for outdoor clothing. The spacious sitting room is light and airy with two windows overlooking side and front gardens. Furnishings consist of a large sumptuous sofa, love seat and large pine coffee table, wall lights and fitted carpet. Facilities include TV, DVD, CD and an Ipod docking station.A great deal of thought and care has been given to make this a delightful welcoming room and furnishings include a pine table with six chairs and a 'Grandmother' clock.

Heating is provided by storage heater and electric fire. The fully fitted and tiled kitchen is well equipped with electric cooker, hob with extractor hood, microwave, large fridge, freezer and washer. The interior cupboard contains the outdoor table, umbrella etc. The garden is reached by the half-glazed side door.
The hall, which has a large storage cupboard housing Hoover etc, leads through to the bedroom area.

Holiday Cottage - Ground Floor Bedrooms

Bedroom 1: with views to front aspect includes double bed, dressing table and chair, armoire and two bedside tables;

Bedroom 2: with views to side garden contains double bed, dressing table/cupboard, bedside table and hanging space.

Bedroom 3: with view to rear garden includes bunk beds, chest of drawers and hanging space.

All bedrooms are heated by electric convector heaters.

Fully tiled bathroom with wood effect floor has cubicle shower, WC, wash hand basin, large mirror and heated towel rail.
