Willow Cottage has a warm spacious atmosphere with local artwork displayed throughout the cottage. The owner, a wildlife artist who lives next door, has her studio gallery at the rear of the property and, along with her husband, has made Willow Cottage into a cosy retreat for two.
Lowick is ideally placed only ten minutes' drive from the dramatic Northumbrian coastline and the Causeway at Holy Island, subject to safe Holy Island Crossing Times, where you can trace the roots of Christianity in Britain.
Close at hand are the unmissable villages of Ford and Etal with quaint cottages, working water mill, light railway and the only thatched pub in Northumberland, Black Bull - definitely worth a visit.
Lowick is only ½ hour away from Alnwick, home to The Duke of Northumberland at Alnwick Castle and the much talked about Alnwick Garden. Boat trips to the Farne Islands daily (weather permitting) from Seahouses.
Just 15 minutes northwards is the historic town of Berwick Upon Tweed with its famous vistas, castle walls and salmon fishing.
The area is well known for birdwatching, walking, fishing and golfing.
