Lovely house in a fabulous setting! Convenient for good walks, beaches and exploring the area.
House had all we needed, loads of space and very comfortable!

Beautiful house. Very comfortable and all equipment for every possibility. Lovely furniture and accessories. Peaceful and well looked after. Thank you.
The Woodcoc Party, Sep 2018
A very special week catching up with friends and family in a very lovely part of England to celebrate my 60th Birthday.
A courtyard full of people, candle light, music and eating under a canopy of tree and stars!
What more can you ask for?
The Old Vicarage has been a magical place to stay and Northumberland Cottages/ Stay Northumbria have bent over backwards to make it possible - Thank you.
We are looking forward to our return trip. We have loved it.
The Mason Family, Aug 2018
Another lovely stay at The Old Vicarage, it's great to have space to gather together but also seperate.
A lovely base to travel from to enjoy the area.
The Smith Family, Apr 2018
Another lovely stay at The Old Vicarage. Very relaxing and we really appreciated the space and the peace and quiet.
Spent most of the time walking on the beaches and visiting the pubs along the way and we were so lucky with the weather as every walk was in the dry. Our border terrier also loved the beaches especially Budle Bay.
This is our third visit to Northumberland and our second visit in the last 12 months and we will certainly be back soon.
It is fast becoming our favourite part of the UK!
Keith and Brenda, Feb 2018
What a wonderful week we have had in this amazing property!
Very well equipped and extremely comfortable beds. Such a short walk to the beach, we have walked for miles.
The weather has been lovely. We had a delightful meal at the Craster Arms in the village - which was pet friendly.
Loved the extra touches, biscuits, tea, coffee and milk waiting for us.
Taking home two very tired collies!
Hope to be back!
ps, we had a pianist with us so had some wonderful recitals!
pps, thanks for the doggie welcome packs, woof!
The Broughton Family, Oct 2017
Perfect house, beautiful location, a week of sun was a welcome bonus. Thank you for sharing your beautiful home with us. Hope to be back next year. Ali.
This is a perfect location! I've enjoyed finding out about the history of this house and the two people in the paintings in the living room. The house has real character and was a welcoming atmosphere. Thank you. Clare.
I echo the sentiments of Ali and Clare. We have had a wonderfully active and, at times, restful week in our beloved Northumberland, based in this atmospheric Old Vicarage. We hope to return... Colin.
Had a wonderful time at the Old Vicarage, especially after researching the history of the house and the previous residents. I have left a brief snapshot of their lives in a file, here in the house.
I hope you enjoy reading about the Vicars/Reverends and their family. Jenny.
ps, I hope to research John Wood and Ann Craster (paintings in the living room) when I return home!
The Turner Family, Sep 2017
Lovely stay over Christmas.
The walk South is lovely - go through Beadnell and the caravan park and walk South on the beach. We did this with a mean gale force wind but clean skies and sand blowing down the beach. The outflow of the Nanny Burn is a wonderful combination of sandbanks, river and hundreds of birds. Along the coast we saw Redshank, Grey Plover, Turnstone and Sandlings.
The Nanny Bridge is beautiful - a simple, wooden railed bridge which is quite straight and gives patterns of shadows from the low winter sun.
Two more miles South to the lovely Ship Inn - crowded but we could eat outside due to the weather.
Back to Beadnell Towers where they have a friendly atmosphere and Football Channels.
The Murray-Rust family congregated at Beadnell from a diversity of places including Edinburgh, Cambridge and Melborne (Australia).
It really couldn't have been better!
From my point of view, the weather was amazing, with opportunities to photograph the magic Northumbrian coast that might not have been expected at this time of year.
The high winds from Storm Barbara combined with the low winter sun created some special efects.
Very rewarding.
The Murray-Rust Family , Dec 2016
Enjoyed a lovely stay in this fantastic house! It was a great location and everything was very handy. We had all that we needed in the house and would love to come back again sometime. It was a fab place to stay. Thank you.
The Quinns and Bennetts, Aug 2016
We have had a wonderful stay in this welcoming house. Weather we couldn't have dreamed of! Loved getting up to the warm kitchen and watching the hares in the garden and field. The area is truly beautiful and we explored the coast and inland. We enjoyed coming back here and then walking to 2 dog-friendly pubs. We have decided that reports of very bad weather here are only to keep people away so that it remains a special place, ha ha!
Rayburn Family, Milton Keynes, Aug 2015
Had a wonderful time in Northumberland. The house is beautiful - plenty of space for us all. The area is full of things to do - I don't think one visit is quite enough. All in all a wonderful house, a wonderful place and a truly wonderful holiday!

We loved the large spacious house and enjoyed being in the garden. Our young puppy loved it here and being near Beadnell Bay was lovely. Loved The Craster Arms. The gardener was very friendly.
Would definately come again.
The White's, Aug 2014
Had a wonderful time in spite of getting tail end of hurricane "Bertha". House beautiful and well appointed. Prompt response from Stay Northumbria when we suddenly found no water coming from all the taps. Beach walking superb at low tide at Bamburgh, Seahouses and Beadnell.
Look forward to returning.
The Jacksons & Shipps, Aug 2014
An imposing and beautiful house with history oozing throughout every room. Younger members of the party - imaginations running rife as they traversed rooms and imagined possible ghostly inhabitants. I'm sure "George" wasn't impressed!
A priviledge to be here. Stay Northumbria prompt to address issues e.g. TV in snug wasn't working, an engineer was sent for immediately.
Surrounding area beautiful, tranquil again steeped in history.
Thank you.
Whitings, Howards & Leaning, May 2014
The house is lovely and we had a very relaxing stay. There are wonderful places to visit & a nice place to come back to & get cosy! The house is beautifully equipped & well situated. We particularly enjoyed being able to have a full New Year Dinner (with all th trimmings) in the gorgeous dining room.
Many thanks for an enjoyable stay!
The Chubbs and Bickrells, Jan 2014
A GREAT place for our family Christmas. Lovely house, space for everyone. Made cooking and preparing so enjoyable and just a perfect place for the Christmas meal.
In spite of (or maybe because of wine) walks on the beach were magical. Everyone (from 6 months to 65) enjoyed our stay.
The Sewells, Mitchells and Miller, Dec 2013
Perfect - simply perfect. Third visit - slept, walked on beach - freinds for dinner - Christmas shopping - then relaxing - the house looks after you so very well - never want to leave -
Au revoir until 2014.
Thank you "Stay Northumbria Team" Happy Christmas & Happy New Year.
The Pattinson Family, Dec 2013
We had a truly wonderful time this week at the Vicarage, when we arrived it was warm, lights were on and the house was as welcoming as ever – it was a tearful Tina that departed at 10.00hrs yesterday morning…!! We had super weather, walked on the beach, slept, visited friends and just embraced the welcome and helpfulness of the Northumbrian people – especially last minute Christmas shopping in Seahouses yesterday.
Tina Barbour, Dec 2013
Wonderful house for a family gathering. Everyone said so, so sad that we won't be able to return as there are more than 10 of us!

My first impressions of England has been quite pleasant! Our adventures have been filled with Castle tours, Fish & Chips, Beach treasures, Gardens & welcoming locals.
The house is beautiful. I've enjoyed the cattle out of my wimdow& pieces of pottery in the fields. The kids had fun flying a kite at Bamburgh beach.
Thank you for the wonderful hospitality :)
Kelsy Keith, Woodstock, VT, USA, Apr 2013
What a lovely holidayin this beautiful home. It was the perfect mix of family and friends. We loved exploring the tidal pools at the beach - so many beautiful shells and rocks & lots of sea glass& pottery.
Howick Gardens and Tearoom are a must for any gardener and for those Earl Grey enthusiasts. Dunstanburgh Castle was as magical as ever followed by a delicious lunch at The Jolly Fisherman - great atmosphere, food & beer. Our favouriet Indian take away was The Brasserie and we love the fish & chips at Neptunes.
If looking for a full day outing we highly recommend Cragside at Rothbury.

We, too, have enjoyed our stay in this well presented house. There's so much to see in this area and the beaches are wonderful, including Beadnell harbour.
The Craster Arms pub in Beadnell provides good, reasonably priced food & Neptune in Seahouses does good Fish and Chips. We had good days out at Bamburgh, Dunstanburgh, Alnwick Castle, Berwick-on-Tweeb, Chillingham Castle among other places.
We've all had a good time!
Eight Fowlers, three generations., Aug 2012
We have spent the last week at the Old Vicarage and enjoyed a wonderful holiday in a great house & location, even the weather obliged.
Thanks to Stay Northumbria staff for their help & attention to detail. Hope to return soon.
Mr & Mrs Hester & family, Aug 2012
We had a wonderful stay at this beautiful house. We filled it up with the 10 of us and ended up having great fun. The house is perfectly situated as it's close enough to the beach (which is lovely) and the shops in Seahouses. If you have a bike. and are interested in cycling, we recommend taking the national route 1, which is near enough and lovely (when the weather is too).
All in all, we loved our stay. Thank you Stay Northumbria!
We thoroughly enjoyed our stay here - it's a lovely house and a good location for exploring the area.
Very peaceful...
Maxine & family, Jul 2012

Would definitely come back..
Celebrating Steve's 50th with beach walks, a stunning visit to the Farne Islands and some nice beer. Perfect company, kind weather and great house to stay in thanks
Sadly we have to leave tomorrow morning - have realised why it's called "Stay Northumbria" because that is just what you want to do!! We have had a wonderful time enjoying Alnwick, Bamburgh the beaches, the castles and topped by a stunning "home" to return to each day.
The reason for our visit was a day's shooting on the Alnwick Estate and this was a fantastic as we had dreamed for months that it might be. What an experience!!!
It has all been so happy and memorable!
We will be back!!
The Pattinson Party, Dec 2011

Emma Family & Friends, Nov 2011
From the road the house looks very imposing. The grounds were neat and tidily kept. The interior of the house was spectacular. All the rooms were spacious and gave the children total freedom. The snug was very cosy. Thank you for the food supply we received on arrival. It was much appreciated. The surrounding countryside and coastline is glorious. I would certainly return to this beautiful home and lovely village.
We rented this beautiful house for the weekend to celebrate my husband's 60th birthday and were impressed from the moment we first saw it. At first, we were insure as to whether we'd come tot he right place, but once we spotted the highland trio at the fence, we knew this was it! All the rooms are spacious, comfortable and tastefully furnished. The dining room provided a perfect setting for our party and we all had a very enjoyable time.... A perfect venue for a celebratory weekend.
Sharon Close & party, Jan 2011
What a welcoming house; even the table was set for dinner. We have had a very comfortable week in a super house. Location ideal, quiet, close to pubs, beach and shop. Book a meal at the "Treehouse Restaurant" at Alnwick Castle: superb and good value. We have taken walks on the beaches and sampled quite a few of the local pubs @ lunchtime. Extremely comfortable beds; we all slept in late most days. The bouire neighbours are very quiet. The kids have dominated the "snug"; giving the adults peace and quiet to complete books, 2 jigsaws, GCSE marking and knitting....... Fantastic time had by all, thanks for letting us rent your wonderful holiday home.
